Subsequent changes to the REST message record are not applied to the HTTP methods automatically. You can create additional HTTP methods or modify the default HTTP methods to implement new behavior.\n\n## Procedure\n\n1.  Navigate to **All** > **System Web Services** > **Outbound** > **REST Message**.\n\n2.  Select a REST message you want to define an HTTP method for.\n\n3.  In the **HTTP Methods** related list, click **New**.\n\n4.  Select the **HTTP method** you want to use, such as GET or POST.\n\n5.  Enter the **Endpoint** this HTTP method should access.\n\n    The endpoint value may include variables using the format **$\\{variable\\}**.\n\n6.  Right-click the form header and select **Save**.\n\n\n## What to do next\n\nAfter creating the HTTP method, you can override the security settings from the parent REST message, configure HTTP headers, add variables, or test the method. For PUT, POST, and PATCH methods you can define a message body.\n\n-   **[Testing REST message HTTP methods](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/api-reference/web-services/c_TestingMethods.md)**  \nTest an HTTP method for an outbound REST message to ensure that the request is valid and the response returns as expected.\n\n**Parent Topic:**[Create a REST message](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/api-reference/web-services/t_ConfiguringARESTMessage.md)\n\n"}}
