Policies can be saved as templates to quick-start future policy creation. You can create a policy from scratch using Policy Management, and define the logic for that policy using the Policy Builder tool. Policy logic is a set of conditions that is used for determining whether or not an applicant is eligible for one or more of the grant programs offered by your agency. You can set conditions for the policy using the condition fields.\n\n## Before you begin\n\nRole required: admin\n\n## Procedure\n\n1. From the CRM Workspace sidebar, navigate to the **Policy Home**.\n\n2. Select **All Policies** &gt; **New**.\n\n3. Select **New blank policy** to start from a blank policy, or select from the existing policy templates.\n\n4. Select **Create**.\n\n5. On the **Create New Policy** form, fill in the fields.\n\n<table id=\"table_mc2_q1m_zwb\"><thead><tr><th>\n\nField\n\n</th><th>\n\nDescription\n\n</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>\n\nPolicy name\n\n</td><td>\n\nThe name of the policy.**Note:** The policy name must be unique, and is used as the identifier of the policy.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nCategory\n\n</td><td>\n\nEnables you to group and manage policies more efficiently.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nCreated\n\n</td><td>\n\nDate and time when the policy was created. Auto-populated.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nUpdated\n\n</td><td>\n\nDate and time when the policy was updated. Auto-populated.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nDescription\n\n</td><td>\n\nAdditional details for this policy.\n\n</td></tr></tbody>\n</table>6. Select **Save**.\n\n The newly created policy contains the following tabs:\n\n<table id=\"table_yck_b1m_zwb\"><thead><tr><th>\n\nTab name\n\n</th><th>\n\nDescription\n\n</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>\n\nDetails\n\n</td><td>\n\nDisplays the details of the policy, including policy name, category, date created, and a description.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nPolicy builder\n\n</td><td>\n\nWhen you create a policy, a draft policy version is created, and must be published before it is current and can be used. Each policy version contains version metadata, a policy script, and variable input definitions, all of which can be modified. Under the **Policy builder** tab, you can:- Edit a policy version.\n\n**Note:** Published policies cannot be edited. To edit a published policy, select **Create a copy**.\n\n- View version details\n- Create a new version\n- Switch from low-code to the code editor\n- Save the policy as a template\n- Compare versions\n- Duplicate policy versions\nFor more details, see [Manage PaCE policy versions](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/servicenow-platform/pace-policy-versions.md).**Note:** You must publish a policy version to make it current before it can be used.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nVersion management\n\n</td><td>\n\nDisplays previous versions of the policy. You can also create a new version of the policy.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nMappings\n\n</td><td>\n\nEnables you to define the grant model to which the policy is to be mapped.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nExecutions\n\n</td><td>\n\nEnables you to review the execution activity for the policy.\n\n</td></tr></tbody>\n</table>7.
