Navigate to **All** &gt; **System Policy** &gt; **Email** &gt; **Layouts**.\n\n    The system displays the list of existing email layouts.\n\n2.  Click **New**.\n\n    The system displays a blank email layout form.\n\n3.  Fill in the form.\n\n<table id=\"table_vhx_qvz_5w\"><thead><tr><th>\n\nField\n\n</th><th>\n\nDescription\n\n</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>\n\nName\n\n</td><td>\n\nSpecify a unique name for the record.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nApplication\n\n</td><td>\n\nLists the parent application to which this record belongs.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nDescription\n\n</td><td>\n\nSpecify an optional description of the layout.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nAdvanced\n\n</td><td>\n\nSelect whether to display the **Advanced Layout** field.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nLayout\n\n</td><td>\n\nUse the inline editor to add HTML elements. The system displays HTML from this field in the body of any email template that uses the layout. Include notification variables to show content from the related record. For more information notification variables see [Notification variables](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/platform-administration/notification-variables.md).\n\n **Note:** The editor automatically formats any HTML code you enter from the **Source code** view.\n\n</td></tr><tr><td>\n\nAdvanced Layout\n\n</td><td>\n\nUse this field to manually enter HTML code. The system displays HTML from this field in the body of any email template that uses the layout.\n\n **Note:** To enter text in this field, select **Click here to disable syntax highlighting and script formatting**.\n\n</td></tr></tbody>\n</table>4.  Click **Submit**.\n\n    The system creates the email layout record.\n\n5.  Navigate to **System Notification** &gt; **Email** &gt; **Templates**.\n\n    The system displays the list of existing email templates.\n\n6.  Select the email template which you want to use an email layout.\n\n    The system displays the email template record.\n\n7.  In **Email layout**, select the email layout you want to use to format the body of email messages.\n\n8.
