{"revision":"c10276e953456835cdbb1f3a60d58ae1980be353","document":{"id":39758,"path":"platform-administration/t_CreateAFormatter.md","title":"Create a formatter and add it to a form","bundle":null,"doc_type":null,"release":"australia","body":"\n# Create a formatter and add it to a form\n\nCreate the formatter after creating the UI macro that defines the content.\n\n## Before you begin\n\nRole required: ui\\_macro\\_admin\n\n## About this task\n\nWith the UI macro in place, create the formatter that references it, and add it to the form.\n\n## Procedure\n\n1.  Navigate to **All** > **System UI** > **Formatters**.\n\n2.  Click **New**.\n\n3.  In the **Name** field, enter a descriptive name for the formatter.\n\n4.  In the **Formatter** field, enter the name of the UI macro with `.xml` appended to it.\n\n5.  In the **Table** field, select the table in which the formatter will be used.\n\n6.  In the **Type** field, select **Formatter**.\n\n7.  Click **Submit**.\n\n8.
